Rock and Shock

Hey slutwads!

Well, if I haven't ripped your ear off with this news yet... you're just not cool enough :P I entered a contest via Rock and Shock, and I was lucky enough to win!  That means that Joey and I both have three day passes to the show.  They're free, and that isn't even all of it!  I also won two free tickets to the Manson/Zombie concert on the 21st.  I think with all the shit the two of us have been through, this is well deserved!  I'm so excited to see some friends this weekend, and to meet some people I haven't before.  If you're a fan of Doug Bradley (Pinhead from Hellraiser) get your ass down to the Palladium.  If you're not, you're an asshole and you should be! :P Well, that was my shameless plug of joy!  You can bet your asses I'll be loading up with pictures!!!

LARP!!!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I've returned! After a very cold, very rainy weekend with my good friends, I'm back in civilization.
My friends and I take time from our normal lives every couple or so weekends, and head out into seclusion to Role Play.  It's like Dungeons and Dragons, without the table in someone's basement lol.
There's a lot of terror surrounding LARPing, which I think is hilarious...  We don't have crazy orgies in the woods, we don't sacrifice small children to the Devil... all we do is let our hair down and have some fun in a reality that our imaginations create.  And I'm sorry, if that doesn't sound fun to you, you're a fucker. :P

So, that being said, since cameras aren't really allowed at these events, I snuck a pic in... and it's this one.  When an Englephyle wants her tea, nothing NOTHING will stop her!!!!
Well, with this image, I say have a great night!!  My next post will involve piercings!!!

Just Past 2...

It is indeed just past two in the morning, and I'm the only creep awake in the house. (Unless there's a murderer hiding in the crawl space...) Either way, tonight is a good night.  I've decided 100% that I'm going to show my writing.
Thanks to the not always gentle prodding of friends for me to release my work, I'm finally hunkering down and trying to get my name out there; thus, this blog.  I want people to get to know me (Thank God Danvers is closed...)
I also think I'm using this as a small portal to release my work.  I've sent excerpts to friends and family, but I've never tossed something of mine out into the world without at least having a safety net underneath it...
Being turned down by so many publishers with "Sepulcher," I think I felt burned.  Not only burned, but burned out.  I'd spent over a year, bent over a laptop, clicking away at a story that became more of a burden and less of a birth.  I still have the manuscript, of course, but I need some time before I continue on with that.
With all of that being said, I think that tomorrow night will bring the first showing of my writing to the world...  And I couldn't want to throw up more.  I know it might seem small to some people, but not to me.  I've been looking into publishing myself, but I know we wouldn't be able to.  If I don't, you'll know I was a pussy...

Night Terrors and Asylum Touring

Alas, unlike the suggestion of the title, I'm not doing any physical touring of any asylums at this time.  While I do adore it, it's past 10pm and I have to be up early for classes... So, no... I'm just going to sit here, with my tea and my insane asylum documentaries, until it's time for bed in just a bit.  I'm an old lady, and I'm proud of that fact lol!

Our psychology class is going to be discussing sleeping disorders for the next week or so.  I'm finding learning about sleep apnea and narcolepsy and the such interesting, but what I really want to know, is all about Night Terror Disorder.  According to the textbook, Night Terror Disorder manifests itself mostly in male adolescents.  This being said, I apparently, am indeed an adolescent male.

I've had night terrors and nightmares for as long as I can remember.  I remember thinking there were evil creatures in the back staircase of the farmhouse my family owned.  I remember waking up screaming about unseen monsters and creatures.  Not much has changed.  I still wake up screaming, still crying and pointing to the darkness, where there isn't a speck of a being, and startling my husband to the point of waking him up.

I'll add more about my little night time horrors tomorrow, but I'm going to head to bed now.  I'm going to get some writing done on my new manuscript while I drift off into the land of nightmares.

Stay Spooky!

Also, one more thing, this is the video I've been watching tonight.  It's quite interesting so far.  Sorry about it being split up. :/

What Monsters Do

I promised the other night that I'd write a post on a new book that I'm madly in love with.  I've been reading a novella by a fantastic author (and good friend of mine,) Nicholas Vince.  For my fellow Hellraiser fans out there, he is indeed the actor in the Chatterer Cenobite costume.  That being said, I think that people will be happy to read this little cachet of horror shorts.
What Monsters Do, which is currently available here,  here for Kindle, and is discussed on his personal website here.  You can also use the latter of the links to delve into the world of this brilliant fellow.
I promised myself that while I work on editing and writing the manuscripts I currently have on my desk, along with the classes I'm taking to earn my Anthropology degree (yeah, who would have thought?!) that I wouldn't get into reading anything not related to my work.  As soon as I received a copy of the book, however, I made the mistake of reading just a few lines... then just a few pages... and then I was head over heels in love with the entire novella and couldn't put it down.  It's gloriously well written, and I'm quite sure that it's my favorite read of the year.  The entire year.  No, Nick isn't paying me to say that, I promise.

Stay Spooky!!

Almost 4 in the morning...

As the title suggests, it is indeed almost four in the fucking morning... yay... I've been working all night, and have classes tomorrow as well... It's a lovely mix... thank Satan for Julie and the energy shot she gave me for tomorrow! ^_^

I'm starting a blog tonight(morning?) so that I can share my insanity, and some of my writings, with the world.  I'm a fledgling author, and I'd just about kill to get into the business... And since I am a horror/erotica author... I could technically kill to get in!  Ha! Early morning humor is humorous...

Well alright... I think my meds are kicking in, so I'll at least have some sleep... I'll be posting a raving review on a new novella I'm almost finished reading tomorrow morning.  If promoting this work is the only thing I do all month, I'd feel well accomplished.  The author is a friend of mine, but he is truly an amazing writer.  More on that tomorrow! (Er... later... yeah whatever...)
